If you need something warm to cosy up to this Autumn/Winter, then forget the fireplace and pick up this book! Charming from the outset, Amelia Grey is living out a dream which a lot of us would love to resonate with. At least at first! The twists and turns that occur leave the reader wanting more each time and its constant warmth leaves you with a smile each time you must put it down. What a lovely idea for a story, and refreshing not to have the predictability which comes with so much fiction in today’s market. Although this book comes with all the charm and domestic bliss appeal that you get from the likes of The Great British Bake Off and Kirstie’s Homemade Home, the characters are ‘real’ and not flowered up by the author, which makes this one of my favourite reads this year.
